Drop-in to our daily fall programming or register for a full session. Winter registration opens online and in person December 11 at 8:30am.

Huntsville offers a comprehensive range of registered and drop-in swimming programs for all ages and abilities. Programs include structured lessons for children 4 months and up, lap swims, leisure swims, and specialized aquatic fitness classes which offer low-impact cardiovascular workouts suitable for all fitness levels.

Swim to Survive

Thanks to the generous support of HyrdoOne's Energizing Life Community Fund, staff are helping our residents learn swimming fundamentals with its Swim to Survive Program. Finding the right lesson for your child can be challenging. Use these resources to help guide your lesson planning and throughout the year:

Swim lesson guidelines

To help your swimmer have the best possible experience, please review the following guidelines:

Come Prepared: Goggles and a hair tie make swimming easier, more comfortable and safer.

Bathroom Break: Have your child use the bathroom right before lesson to maximize swim time and help keep our pool clean.
Not potty trained? Please use a swim diaper.

Arrival Time: Meet at your classes spot on deck 5 minutes before the lesson.
Swimmers level 4 or below must be accompanied to the meeting spot by a guardian.

Swimmer Transfer: After drop-off, head to the viewing area. This helps minimize distractions and keeps the deck clear for safety and emergency procedures.
If your child is upset:
- If your child is upset, reassure them you’ll be watching from a visible spot.
- Let them know you’ll return at the end of lesson.
- Seeing you calm and confident helps your child feel safe and supported.
- Instructors are trained to handle nervous or upset swimmers, whether it's separating anxiety or fear of the water.
Pick-up: Please return to the meeting spot 5 minutes before the lesson ends to pick up your swimmer. Lessons run back-to-back, so being on time helps us stay on schedule.
Questions for Instructors: Instructors need to move directly to the next class and may not be available for questions. Instead, please direct your questions to the Deck Supervisor, who is happy to help.
Footwear on Deck: To help keep our facility clean, no outdoor shoes are allowed on the pool deck. You may go barefoot or wear clean deck shoes.
Illness: Please keep your child home if they are sick or showing any of the following symptoms:
- Fever
- Green nasal discharge (infectious)
- Conjunctivitis (pink eye)
- Vomiting and/or diarrhea
These conditions are highly contagious—let’s share the fun, not the germs!
Progress Night: Halfway through the session, you are invited to Progress Night—the one-time guardians (except for parented classes) are allowed on deck. You’ll have the chance to watch the lesson up close. The Deck Supervisor will be happy to explain the criteria and how your swimmer is doing in relation to it.

Full payment is due at the time of registration. All fees listed are plus applicable taxes. We accept credit, cash, and debit.
Non-residents are required to pay an additional 10% per participant, per program, as they do not pay property taxes which support the Town of Huntsville.

Fee assistance subsidy coverage

The Town of Huntsville provides support to eligible residents looking to take part in Town recreation and culture programs. To determine eligibility, visit our Affordable Access to Recreation Programs webpage.

The District of Muskoka Community Services also provides child care subsidy to eligible parents and guardians. To determine eligibility, please call 705-645-2412 or 1-800-461-4215 and ask to speak to the Child Care Case Aid.

Online registration is not possible for children with subsidy coverage. Please register by calling 705-789-6421.

Changes to swimming and aquatics schedule may occur. Visit the activities menu for current information including changes or cancellations. You may also call the Canada Summit Centre customer service desk at 705-789-6421.

Programs cancelled due to inclement weather will not be rescheduled.
All programs are subject to cancellation if there are insufficient registrations. If your program is cancelled due to insufficient enrollment you may transfer free of charge to another program (subject to availably) or receive a full refund. In the case of swimming lessons, levels may be combined and times may be changed.

Multi-day programs

Requests to withdraw from a program must be received at least three (3) full business days prior to its commencement to be eligible for a refund or credit, and is subject to a $20.00 administration fee.

Once a program has started, refunds or credits will not be issued, unless for medical reasons with a doctor's note. In these circumstances, refunds will be prorated.

Programs cancelled by the Town of Huntsville due to insufficient registration will receive a full refund. Individual classes in a session cancelled due to inclement weather will not be refunded. All other cancellations will be reviewed by staff on a case by case basis.

Drop-in programs

Drop-in fees will be refunded in full provided they are received within 1 business day of the program.

One-day clinics, courses and workshops will receive credit.

Safety and Rules

Children under 7 years of age must be directly supervised by an adult at all times.

One adult may supervise up to 4 children in the small pool or 2 children in the large pool.

Children aged 7–10 years who can pass the facility swim test may use the pool without direct adult supervision.

Non-swimmers under the age of 10 must be directly supervised by an adult.
- One adult may not be responsible for more than 4 swimmers.

Swimmers must pass the facility swim test to access the deep end without a lifejacket.

Guardians and group leaders are responsible for directly supervising the children in their care at all times.

All swimmers must shower before entering and re-entering the pool.

Infants and toddlers who are not toilet trained must wear swim diapers in the water.
- Please note: In the event of a pool fouling, the pool may need to be closed for 1 to 24 hours, depending on the severity and type of incident.

No one with open sores or a communicable disease is permitted in the pool.

No food or drinks are allowed on the pool deck or in the changeroom areas.

Outdoor shoes and boots are not permitted on deck or in the changerooms.

Changeroom and deck floors are slippery when wet—walk, do not run, and use caution.

All swimmers must obey whistle signals from lifeguards:

- Three whistles signals an emergency—clear the pool immediately.

Anyone engaging in unsafe behavior, inappropriate language, or disruptive conduct will be asked to leave the pool area.

Children must use gender-specific or family change rooms.

Children under 12 years of age are not permitted in the spa unless supervised by someone 16 years or older.
Pregnant women and individuals with known health or medical conditions should consult a physician before using the spa.
Do not use the spa if you have:
- An open sore or rash
- Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea
Overexposure may cause fainting.
- Limit spa use to 10–15 minutes at a time.
- Cool down periodically and exit the spa immediately if you feel nauseous or dizzy.
To prevent slipping, enter and exit the spa slowly and carefully.
Do not play or swim near drains or suction devices.
- Hair, body parts, jewelry, and other objects may become trapped, posing a serious risk of injury or drowning.
- People with long hair should take extra caution.
Do not enter or remain in the spa if a drain cover or suction fitting is loose, broken, or missing.
- Report any concerns to a spa operator immediately.
No food or beverages (except water) are permitted on deck or in the spa itself.
The maximum bather load for the spa is 13 people.

The slide may only be used under direct supervision of a lifeguard.
All participants must follow the instructions of the slide supervisor at all times.
Children must be at least 6 years of age and must wear a yellow or green bracelet to use the slide.
Only one person on the slide at a time.
The waiting line must form on the pool deck—no climbing or waiting on the slide structure.
