A revised application has been submitted to permit the construction of a four-storey multiple dwelling development known as 20 Cairns Crescent.
The site is located on Cairns Crescent and Kitchen Road South and is 2.1 hectares in area.
The original application was submitted in September 2024. In response to comments received, the proposal has been updated. The second submission aims to address critical comments without impacting on the overall development proposal as a four-storey housing development with affordable potential.
Key revisions include:
- Building relocated - the building has been shifted westward to allow for a wider landscaped area along the east side of the linear driveway from Cairns Crescent.
- Improved setbacks - where the building is closest to an existing single-detached dwelling a portion of the building has been cut back, enhancing the separation between the mid-rise building and the adjacent low-rise home.
- Enhanced parking - to better accommodate larger vehicles 20 percent of all parking spaces have been widened to a minimum width of 3 metres.
- Reduced unit count - total unit counts have been revised from 184 units to 176 units.
- Landscaping element - landscaping has been added around and in front of the loading space to provide a visual and vegetative buffer.
The development is within the Urban Residential - High (UR3) precinct which generally applies to high density residential uses including low and mid-rise apartments.
CPP/124/2024/HTE application has been made to permit this proposed development.
