(Huntsville, ON) - As residents have noticed, smokey and hazy conditions are considerable in Huntsville today. While there are no active wildfires in the area, air quality is being impacted by wildfires burning outside our region. Combined with the current yellow heat warning, these conditions can be challenging for some members of the population.

A reminder that if you notice smoke columns or signs of fire nearby, please contact emergency services by calling 911 right away.

Environment Canada has not issued an air quality alert at this time, however, please consider the following precautions:

• Limit outdoor activity if you’re sensitive to poor air quality

• Keep windows closed if the smoke is noticeable

• Check on neighbours who may be affected
