Get Active and Engaged This Summer - Register for Town Programs and Activities!
(Huntsville, ON) – June is Recreation and Parks Month – perfect timing for the launch of the Town of Huntsville’s summer programming on June 11, 2026!
Recreation and Parks Month serves as a great reminder of the vital role activity plays in our community, keeping people moving, engaged and creative all summer long. Whether it is trying something new, rediscovering past interests, or simply enjoying the sense of connection that comes from participating in community programs, indoor and outdoor programming is an opportunity to get active, meet others, and embrace the many benefits that recreation brings to our daily lives.
Summer Program Registration Opens June 11
Registration for our 2026 summer programs and activities opens Thursday, June 11 at 8:30 a.m., both online and in person. Whether you’re looking to soak up the sunshine or stay cool indoors, we’ve got something for everyone. This year’s lineup is packed with engaging, energizing activities for all ages.
Featured programs include:
-
Swim to Survive – funded by HydroOne, this program introduces participants to swimming fundamentals and survival skills in just three lessons.
-
Summer Ice – a full suite of programming is available at the Don Lough arena all summer long.
-
Qigong on the Dock – Building on the popularity of Yoga on the Dock, we are moving Qigong outdoors for the summer.
-
Tennis at Meadow Park – Purchase a tennis membership and hit the courts Monday to Saturday throughout the summer as part of this volunteer-led program.
-
Mayor’s Bike Ride – Mayor Alcock and our local cycling clubs take to the streets on May 28 in celebration of Bike Month.
-
TD Summer Reading Club – This popular Library program is back to inspire young readers all summer long.
Similar to the Canada Summit Centre, the Huntsville Public Library has a lot going on this summer including Storywalks®, STEAM activities and summer pop-ups around town. Your Library Card also allows you to borrow a variety of items in addition to books, like Attraction Passes, disc golf sets, Nintendo Switch consoles, sewing machines and more!
In the spirit of Recreation and Parks Month, consider borrowing an Ontario Parks Pass or Muskoka Heritage Place Family Day Pass. Visit huntsvillelibrary.ca for a full list of programs, services and schedules.
June is also Seniors’ Month, and we are celebrating with our annual Strawberry Social on June 2 at 12:00 p.m. at the Active Living Centre. Muskoka Heritage Place will be providing the strawberry shortcake and at only $10 per person spaces fill quickly - we encourage you to register early to secure your spot!
Summer also means school is out and camp is in! For anyone looking for a memorable experience for their kids, there are still spots available in several of the Town’s Summer Camps.
