GEAR UP FOR KIDS: Supporting the Next Generation of Cyclists
The Town of Huntsville is pleased to be working with the Children's Foundation of Muskoka to help get more bikes into the hands of local youth through our Gear Up for Kids Program.
The Program was launched by Mayor Nancy Alcock to bring residents, businesses, and organizations together in support of bikes to local youth. The initiative reflects her belief that a community-focused approach to active transportation is key to building a vibrant and inclusive Huntsville.
“Active transportation provides children with more than just a way to get around; it creates opportunities for exploration, independence, and lifelong healthy habits,” says Mayor Alcock. “Providing bikes and gear to local children helps remove barriers, empowers them to move freely, and contributes to building a stronger, more connected community for the future.”
