Flood Warning in Effect for Huntsville – April 22 Update
April 22, 2026 (Huntsville, ON) – As some flood conditions remain active, the Town is continuing to monitor local water levels, waterways, flooded areas, and road conditions. The Ministry of Natural Resources has extended the current Flood Warning until Wednesday, April 29.
Public works crews continue to manage roads impacted by flooding, and regular maintenance activities have resumed. Residents can expect to see operations crews filling potholes and conducting street sweeping activities over the coming weeks.

Areas along the Muskoka River, south of the Brunel Locks and Port Sydney will continue to see high water levels as water makes its way through the system.

Important reminders:
Properties in flooded areas using well water should assume the water is not safe to drink. For flooding resources visit the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit website at www.simcoemuskokahealth.org.
Residents should obey all posted road closure signs and barricades. Do not attempt to drive through flooded roadways. Even shallow water can be dangerous and may hide washouts or debris.
Sandbag materials:
The Town continues to replenish sand and sandbag materials. These are available 24/7 for residents to fill at the following locations (please bring your own shovel):
