Flood Warning in Effect for Huntsville – April 21 Update

(Huntsville, ON) – As flood conditions remain active, the Town continues to monitor local water levels, waterways, flood situations, and road conditions. Huntsville remains at the Ministry of Natural Resource Flood Warning level.

The Town is continuing to monitor the situation and will provide updates as necessary.  We advise residents to remain vigilant with more rain forecasted over the coming week that could impact flood-prone areas.

Latest Updates:

  • Water levels have started to decrease at the Williamsport Monitoring Station, Rivercove, Old North Road, and Glen Acres.

  • Water levels in the downtown core have stabilized.

  • Areas along the Muskoka River, south of the Brunel Locks and Port Sydney will continue to see high water levels as water makes its way through the system.

Important Reminders
Properties in flooded areas using well water should assume the water is not safe to drink. For flooding resources visit the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit website at www.simcoemuskokahealth.org.

Public Works crews are prioritizing flood response for the duration of the event and are continuing to assess and repair damaged roads. Residents should obey all posted road closure signs and barricades. Do not attempt to drive through flooded roadways. Even shallow water can be dangerous and may hide washouts or debris.
