Don't Miss Out - Get Your Tickets for Canadian Classic Billy Bishop Goes to War

(Huntsville, ON) - The Algonquin Theatre is proud to present the beloved classic Billy Bishop Goes to War, for one night only on September 19 at 7:30 p.m. The iconic play, and winner of the Governor General's Literary Award for Drama, pays tribute to Canada's famous World War I hero and flying ace, Billy Bishop. Don't miss your chance to experience this timeless story, when it takes flight at the Algonquin Theatre. 

Since its premiere in 1978, the musical has been staged across Canada and in the United States and Europe and remains one of the most popular Canadian musicals ever. Written and composed by John MacLachlan Gray and Eric Peterson, the show combines humour and tragedy while reflecting on Canada's colonial past and national identity. The musical features actor Matt John Evans who portrays not only the legendary Bishop, but 15 other characters in the show! His performance has received high praise as he brings this unique and significant piece of Canadian theatre to life, with one reviewer calling it their favourite version of Billy Bishop ever. 

Evans is accompanied by Musical Director and piano player, Michael Mulrooney who has served as musical director, conductor, pianist, arranger, and/or composer on over 200 theatrical productions. 

Billy Bishop takes the stage at the Algonquin Theatre on Saturday, September 19 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $40 for adults and $25 for youth (plus HST).
