Avery Beach Park and Hunter's Bay Trail Closure - August 17, 2025

Please be advised that Avery Beach Park, and a small portion of Hunter's Bay Trail, will be closed on August 17, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for water rescue training for the Huntsville Lake of Bays Fire Department. The closure will also apply to the first 300 feet of water off of Avery Beach, and markers will be placed in the water.  

The boat launch will remain open to the public during this time. Boaters are asked to slow down and be vigilant around the training area.
