Pre-Meeting Highlights
Council Pre-Meeting Highlights – November 24, 2025
This month, Council is hearing on a variety of topics, including this year's nominees for the Community Recognition Program, a public art donation, and the potential expansion of Huntsville’s public charging network for electric vehicles (EVs).
- The Town’s Community Recognition Program provides the opportunity to highlight the many hard working and dedicated organizations and individuals that provide valuable contributions to the community. The Town extends gratitude for the important work of the 35 recipients of this year’s Community Recognition Program.
- Huntsville has been chosen to be gifted a statue of Mahatma Gandhi from the Consulate General of India. Staff are seeking Council direction to accept the gift and find a location within the community for the statue. The donation of the statue represents a lasting tribute to the community's openness and dedication to people-to-people connections, celebrating cultural ties, and highlighting the richness of our collective diversity.
- Staff are seeking Council direction to work with Lakeland Solutions to expand the Town’s public EV charging network with four new EV charging spots at both the Canada Summit Centre and McCulley Robertson Recreation Park. This marks meaningful steps towards making EV charging accessible in Huntsville to help support the adoption of EVs.
