Liquor Licensing

Liquor licence for businesses

A liquor licence is required if you will be serving alcohol as part of your business. The Municipal Information Form will be processed as follows:

  • Submit the Municipal Information Form to the attention of the Municipal Clerk
  • The Clerk will circulate the application information to various Town staff who will be responsible for ensuring compliances have been met
    • Zoning compliance: use is permitted under the Zoning By-law
    • Building compliance: inspection for liquor licensing has been completed
    • Fire prevention compliance: a current business licence has been obtained (if applicable)
  • Once all compliances have been met, the form will be completed confirming the "wet/damp/dry" status and the applicant will be notified
  • The processing fee will be due upon pick up

NOTE: It is the applicant's responsibility to contact the Building Department and Fire Department to make appointments for inspections.

Temporary patio extensions/parking lot and constructed patios

For businesses currently holding a liquor license, the Town of Huntsville allows these downtown BIA businesses to temporarily set up sidewalk cafés, retail displays, or patios.

Businesses currently holding a liquor license but are outside the BIA looking to construct a temporary parking lot patio, and or construct a patio must contact the Planning Department and seek approval to determine appropriate steps.
