It wouldn’t be spring in Huntsville without our annual Nutty Chocolatier's Community Easter Egg Hunt at Muskoka Heritage Place (MHP). This free, 45-minute chocolate treasure hunt on April 5 is a wonderful way to spend the holiday with the kids.
You will also want to mark May 16 on your calendars when MHP’s Pioneer Village and Train Station reopen for the season! Take a step back in time and discover Muskoka life in the 1880s. With the 2026 MHP Season Pass, you can explore this historical landmark at your own pace with unlimited access to the Muskoka Museum, Pioneer Village, and Portage Flyer Train during peak season operating hours.
Want to be even more engaged with the site? A 2026 MHP Membership gives all the benefits of a season pass, as well as discounts on off-season programming and gift shop items, first look at upcoming exhibits, and more!
For those looking to visit in the off-season, our Museum at 88 Brunel Road is open year-round from Tuesday to Saturday. Admission is free, with donations welcome. For more on these and other MHP activities, visit muskokaheritageplace.ca

From arts, to games, to cooking, we’re doing it all this season! Sign up for one week, several weeks or all classes; you decide! Various dates are scheduled, check out the schedule online HERE.
Adult fitness programs return this season with the popular Multi-Fitness Program Discount, plus new offerings like Callanetics, Boot Camp and Stretch Intermediate, Saturday FAM Fit Fun, and Belly Dance.
Arena Programming
As winter leaves Huntsville, so does the ice at the Jack Bionda Arena, bringing a chance to hit the arena floor for pickleball, badminton, and inline skating. Grab a group of friends or family members and do your own thing during Family Open Floor or drop-in to one of our pre-registered programs. We have lots of choices to suit your level and interest.
Not ready to hang up your skates? The Don Lough Arena still has ice available to rent along with a full lineup of public programming. March Break will be particularly busy with sponsored skates and other on-ice programming to keep the family busy while school is out. New to the March Break schedule are two separate Family Stick and Pucks for 5-14 and 11–17-year-olds. Visit huntsville.ca for details and arena schedules.
Aquatics Programming
March Break wouldn’t be complete without a trip to the Centennial Pool for one of our Leisure Swims Monday to Friday from 1:00pm to 2:00pm.
You can also make a splash at our special Wibit swims held every other Saturday until June 6! With the pool transformed into an exciting obstacle course, its part challenge, part adventure, and all fun. Families can also book private pool rentals, a great option for birthdays or special gatherings.
For those looking for swimming lessons, we have many options to choose from including private, semi-private, group daytime, evening and adult options. These lessons would not be possible without our team of swim instructors. Learn the ins and outs of becoming a confident and skilled swim instructor yourself with our Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor Course! Designed for teens who love the water, this course teaches you how to coach and evaluate all the strokes in the Swim for Life program using fun, effective teaching techniques. You’ll learn how to plan great lessons, run stroke-building drills, and help swimmers improve with clear, positive feedback. Get ready to lead the pool, inspire young swimmers, and build real skills you can use for life! Visit huntsville.ca for details and swim schedules.
Huntsville Public Library

Youth can get hands-on with creative and engaging programs like the LEGO Builders Club, where young minds can build and create, or Minecraft Mondays, perfect for those who love to design, explore, and problem-solve in the virtual world. The STEAM Club continues to inspire kids with fun, educational activities that combine science, technology, engineering, arts, and math. With so much to offer, there's a program to help everyone learn, grow, and stay healthy.
