(Huntsville, ON) The Town of Huntsville would like to advise that the annual half-load restrictions will take effect March 9, 2026, in Huntsville and throughout Muskoka.  

Half-load restrictions occur every year in the spring on select roadways in Huntsville. When a half-load restriction is in place, it means that vehicles over 5 tonnes per axle in weight are not permitted to use certain Huntsville roads. Heavy trucks and transport vehicles are advised to use alternate routes to navigate Huntsville and District of Muskoka roads.  

The Town of Huntsville manages these restrictions and specific road exemptions under By-law number 2020-83: A By-law too Prescribe Reduced Load Periods for Certain Town Roads. No additional exception requests will be accommodated in 2026.
