Committee Coordinator

Reporting to the Deputy Clerk the Committee Coordinator will provide all aspects of meeting support to Town Council and Committees. As one of two Committee Coordinators on the team, you will play an equal role in managing information and documentation that supports the legislative process—from preparing draft materials to compiling and producing final agendas. Together, both coordinators ensure the smooth and timely delivery of legislative services minutes and manage the applicable dissemination of correspondence emanating from the actions related to those meetings. Appointed as Deputy Division Registrar of Still Births and Deaths and Marriage Issuer. Assists in the Municipal Election. This role also undertakes various duties to ensure compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act.
To assume the role as Committee Coordinator you will have the following profile:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Public or Business Administration
- Preference given to those with a Municipal Administration Program (MAP) certificate and/or Accredited Municipal Professional (AMP)
- 2 years related experience
- Knowledge of applicable legislation in particular the Municipal Act, Vital Statistics Act, Marriage Act, Municipal Elections Act, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act
- Highly proficient minute-taking, report writing ability and presentation skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a team player and multi-tasking and time management skills are essential.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively and diplomatically with a wide range of personality types
- Excellent working knowledge of personal computer applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word. Laserfiche and iCompass
- Must hold a valid and current G drivers’ licence and have access to a reliable vehicle to use on corporate business.
Hours of work 8:30 am to 4:30 and will be required to work additional hours outside of regular office hours Monday to Friday. The Town of Huntsville offers an attractive benefit package and a competitive salary range. The salary range for this position $64,500.80 to $71,107.40.
