Manager of Taxation and Revenue (Contract)

The Town of Huntsville is temporarily seeking a Manager of Taxation and Revenue to join and support our Finance team. Reporting to the Director of Financial Services/Treasurer, this position is responsible for overseeing property tax billing, collection, and the maintenance of tax accounts within the Town’s financial system. The role also contributes to financial budgeting, reconciliation, analysis, and reporting, while providing leadership and direction to the revenue and customer service team.

The successful candidate will manage tax collection processes, recommend and implement policy improvements, oversee daily collection activities by Customer Service Staff, and administer pre-authorized payment plans. They will also lead efforts related to tax arrears, including legal proceedings and tax sales. A strong focus on team leadership and professional development is essential, particularly in mentoring the team and supporting operational excellence.

A post-secondary diploma in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline is required, along with a minimum of one to two years of experience in a municipal finance environment. Preference will be given to candidates with supervisory experience, especially those who have led team development, managed performance, and contributed to the creation of standard operating procedures. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other standard business applications is essential.

The yearly salary range for this position is $85,995 to $94,803.80 per year, based on a 35-hour work week (Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.). In addition to a competitive salary, this role is eligible to participate in the OMERS pension plan, and access to various employee programs.
