Day Camp Counsellor, Inclusion Counsellor, and Junior Counsellor

Located in Ontario’s cottage country, the Town of Huntsville is the largest community in the District Municipality of Muskoka and in proximity to the west side of Algonquin Park. Within this exciting setting, the Town of Huntsville has a vibrant downtown and offers many cultural and outdoor recreational opportunities.

The Town of Huntsville is looking for enthusiastic, dedicated, and creative individuals to work as Counsellors, Inclusion Counsellors, Canoe Counsellors ($16.60 - $21.58 per hour) and Junior Counsellors ($16.60 - 17.60 per hour) in our exciting day camp program for the summer months of July and August! Reporting directly to the Program Coordinator, Community Services Division, the summer camp staff will facilitate the Summer Day Camps to campers ages 4-12 in accordance with the policies and procedures established by the Town of Huntsville. Prescribed programs have been created with a focus on recreation, traditional camp activities, arts and crafts, sports and games. Duties include; planning, participating and supervising children and children’s activities, to provide for the necessary care for each child, providing suggestions for program enhancement, to obtain and develop learning materials/resources, completion of time sheets and any training and attendance at staff meetings.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with children (ages 4 -12) and will understand a variety of sports, cooperative games, arts/crafts and summer camp fun.

Relevant Qualifications include:

  • Standard First Aid and CPR.
  • High Five – PHCD is an asset.
  • NLS certification is also an asset.
