Culture & Heritage Program Coordinator

We are looking for the ideal candidate to fill the following seasonal position, with potential for extension (depending on additional funding) at Muskoka Heritage Place (MHP).
CULTURE & HERITAGE PROGRAM COORDINATOR
Under the direction of the Manager of Muskoka Heritage Place, the Culture & Heritage Program Coordinator is responsible for the overall creation, delivery, implementation, evaluation, and administration of select culture and heritage programs, activities, and special events that support Community Services and MHP’s strategic priorities and goals.
This position is responsible for ensuring quality of service through creative and inclusive planning, ongoing evaluation and problem solving.
The C&H Program Coordinator will ensure that all programs, activities, and events are delivered within legislative and program guidelines taking into consideration accessibility, affordability, facility yield management, risk management, budget and operational policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION
- Pursuing or possess a diploma in Arts Administration, Cultural Management/Planning, Event Management, Museum Studies, Education, Cultural Studies or a related field.
- Minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated experience in cultural and/or heritage programming, community development, event planning, administration, leadership, and service delivery.
- Strong leadership, communication, facilitation, organization, interpersonal, and management skills.
- Knowledge of community-based culture, arts and history;
- Ability to multi-task, project management and time management skills;
- Creative problem solving and flexibility;
- Team player, goal-oriented, innovative and inclusive;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, together with strong analytical, coaching, problem solving, strategic planning, and presentation skills.
- Excellent planning, forecasting, and financial/budget management skills.
- High proficiency required in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Sharepoint)
- General knowledge of the following standards, regulations, and legislation:
- Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA)
- Human Rights Code
- Community Museum Operating Standards
- Valid Class “G” Driver’s License with access to a reliable vehicle.
- Experience in a Facility Booking Software Program an asset i.e.: PerfectMind
- Certifications in First Aid and CPR, High Five, Smart Serve, and Food Handling an asset.

The hourly rate for this position is $40.51 based on a 35-hour work week.
