Creative Specialist
The Marketing Team is seeking a candidate to fill a ten (10) month Contract Creative Specialist position. Reporting to the Manager of Marketing and Communications, the Creative Services Specialist is responsible for the graphic design, photography/videography, and content production services for the municipality, tourism assets as well as affiliated sub brands.
This role works closely with the Marketing and Communications team as well as all organizational departments to translate strategic objectives into accessible, brand aligned visual communications for print, web, social, signage, and video.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum post-secondary degree or 3-year diploma in graphic design, advertising, multimedia, video production, marketing or a related discipline along with three (3) years previous related experience including working with creative teams. The chosen candidate will have a strong portfolio demonstrating a range of creative work across print and digital formats, exceptional oral and written communication skills along with strong interpersonal and consultative skills, and knowledge of Council and municipal government processes is an asset. Additionally, this role requires a strong understanding of print production processes and digital media requirements, proficiency with industry-standard creative tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects).
Excellent interpersonal skills, practical experience and advanced knowledge of MS Office applications such as Excel, PowerPoint and Word required. Self-motivated with a keen sense of customer service and excellent decision-making skills. Open to change, with a learning attitude towards work and team contributions. Ability to exercise judgment and use discretion in relaying information for the betterment of the organization.
This role will be required to work in a hybrid office setting. The hiring range for this position is $68,268.20 to $71,671,60 based on a 35-hour work week.
