This month General Committee will hear on a number of subjects, including changes to the policy governing how the Municipal Accommodation Tax funds can be spent, and a 2025 mid-year financial update.  

The Town receives a portion of the Municipal Accommodation Tax, and a report is coming forward to revise the policy that guides how those funds are spent. Staff are recommending that the program, project or cost improves the quality of life for Town of Huntsville residents and supports at least one Strategic Plan goal or initiative. This will ensure these funds are aligned with the Strategic Plan and reflect the community’s priorities.  

Staff are providing a 2025 mid-year financial forecast showing an overall projected deficit of approximately $122,000, and are recommending Council approve budget deviations not previously approved.
