Pre-Meeting Highlights
Council Pre-Meeting Highlights – September 22, 2025
This month, Council is hearing on a variety of topics, including a potential commemorative naming of Diamond F at McCulley Robertson Recreation Park, an update on the Pitman’s Bay property, and Town efforts to secure funding to support school zone safety in Huntsville.
Staff are presenting a summary of the community feedback received regarding the commemorative naming of Diamond F at McCulley Robertson Recreation Park to Selkirk Diamond and are seeking Council direction on how to proceed.
Staff are seeking Council approval to amend the existing Trust agreement that governs the Pitman’s Bay property to ensure the property is used for youth education and recreation purposes in perpetuity.
Many residents use different forms of active transportation, such as walking or riding a bike, to drop kids off or get to school in Huntsville. Town staff are seeking Council’s approval to apply for the Safe and Active School Routes funding program to support infrastructure improvements to keep children and their caregivers safe as they walk to school.
