ITEM: Chaffey Road Reconstruction Project 
 
Council approved the Chaffey Township Road reconstruction project in the 2026 capital budget. Staff have reviewed options for providing pedestrian access along the corridor to align with the Sidewalk Master Plan objectives and improve pedestrian safety and connectivity. 

OUTCOME:  

Council directed staff to proceed with an asphalt sidewalk for pedestrian infrastructure on Chaffey Township Road as part of the road reconstruction design, and to allow completion of the detailed design. The additional project costs are to be funded through the existing roads capital budget by reprioritizing funding for other 2026 capital projects.
