Roads & Sidewalks

The Town maintains 340 kms of Town roads and approximately 30 kms of sidewalks. All road operations are handled from our Madill yard.

Road Maintenance

The Town of Huntsville and the District of Muskoka both own and maintain select roads in Huntsville.  Huntsville continues to maintain all sidewalks and municipal parking lots.  Here are some maps and more information:

If you come across an area of damaged road please submit an inquiry and Town road staff be notified to examine and assess the damage.

Our road operations have undertaken the regular spring road maintenance activities to improve motorists' visibility and overall surface drainage alongside our roads. The work will be done in phases, where branches and limbs are cut first and then chipped as phase 2. Please remember to drive slowly when work crews are present and proceed with caution. Thank you.

Annual Roadside Mowing

This annual program began the week of July 2nd. Our staff are currently mowing all municipally-owned rural road edges to reduce the overgrowth. This is a another important program for helping with sight line improvements at intersections, roadside drainage and removing that "tunneling effect" for motorists by providing more space along the sides of the roads.

Sidewalk Maintenance

If a sidewalk is found to be broken or raised, a temporary patch or grinding of the sidewalk will be carried out as quickly as possible. If required the sidewalk slab(s) will be noted for replacement at a later date as part of our Annual Sidewalk Repair Program.

If you find a damaged sidewalk please submit an inquiry and Town road staff be notified to examine and assess the damage.

Sidewalk maintenance concerns along highway 60 should be addressed to the MTO at 705-789-2392.

Reduced Load Period 2018
