The #healthyhuntsville pledge is a promise that when you visit downtown to shop, eat, work, or come to an event, you will park a few blocks away and walk to Main Street.

There are different spots available in the Summer and Winter. Visit our parking page and the parking maps for more details.

Orchard Park Apple Festival

Local food is healthy food! A group of our residents work hard each year to take care of the apple trees in Orchard Park. Celebrate their efforts with us during the annual apple picking festival (2018 season complete).

Battery Recycling Program

Drop dead batteries off at the following locations:
  • Canada Summit Centre: front desk and pool desk
  • Active Living Centre: 2nd floor foyer
  • Civic Centre: 2nd floor across from Customer Service
  • Algonquin Theatre: lobby
  • Huntsville Public Library: lobby and circulation desk
Before you drop batteries in the bin:
  • Tape the ends of the batteries so they don't short circuit
Why recycle batteries:
  • Batteries collected in the bins are taken to a facility in Ontario where over 98% of the materials are recycled
  • If you want to learn more about the battery recycling process, visit the Raw Materials Company (RMC) website.
