Being a volunteer is a great way to learn new skills, meet new people, earn volunteer hours, build your resume and pursue interests that expand your expertise. Most of all, your commitment further contributes to the vibrance of our community.  

Town of Huntsville Volunteer Opportunities:

 Muskoka Heritage Place

Muskoka Heritage Place offers several different and unique volunteering opportunities depending on your individual interests:

  • Pioneer village historical narrator or demonstrator
  • Rail operations (narrator): Conductor, Station Master, Engineer or Fireman 
  • Rail mechanic, data entry and archival work (non-narrator positions)
  • Village or train station musician

 Algonquin Theatre
The Algonquin Theatre depends greatly on volunteers to make the patrons' experiences memorable.

If you have a flair for customer service, like working in a fast-paced team environment, and have a desire to contribute to the arts, then volunteering at the Algonquin Theatre may be right for you.

 Canada Summit Centre and Active Living Centre

If you enjoy staying active in a great environment than volunteering at the Canada Summit Centre and Active Living Centre could be the perfect fit. We offer several volunteering opportunities:

  • Ambassador Volunteer welcomes guest to the centre and answers general questions, gives tours and provides directions.
  • Programming Volunteer provides programming assistance in a recreation setting. Share a specialize skill, or assist in scheduled program
  • Aquatic Volunteer works alongside and under direction of certified Red Cross instructors and are invited to join regular aquatic staff training session (job training to learn first aid, lifeguarding skills and instructional techniques).

 Huntsville Public Library

The Huntsville Public Library welcomes volunteers in the following areas:

  • Community Tutors
  • Tutor Intake Coordinator
  • Seed Library
  • Teen Advisory Group
  • Shelf Reading
