The Town of Huntsville requires a creative and strategic team player to fill a Maternity Leave for the position of Manager of Marketing.

Under the general direction of the Director of Corporate Services the Manager of Marketing is responsible for the strategic planning and implementation of all marketing and communications services for the Corporation. Responsibilities include: media relations, brand development and management, website management, advertising procurement and management, development of print and online publications and presentations, in addition to the development of promotional materials. This position will also work with Town Hall, Muskoka Heritage Place, Algonquin Theatre, Canada Summit Centre and other managed programs of the Town of Huntsville on their branding and messaging.

The Manager of Marketing is the Public Information Officer for the Town of Huntsville Emergency Control Group. This position also plays a key role in facilitating a coordinated, corporate-wide approach to communications and customer service excellence.

You have demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of marketing communications and brand plans and have a creative flair with expertise in graphic design. Your written and verbal communications skills are exceptional and you work effectively with elected officials, employees and external stakeholders.

Ideally, the successful candidate would possess a post-secondary graduate degree in a related field with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in marketing, brand development, advertising and supporting sales. Along with possessing excellent communications skills you are a team player with hands on experience in marketing principles, processes and approaches and have an excellent working knowledge of computer applications with graphic experience an asset. The annual salary range for this position is $71,320.70 to $79,245.22 less statutory deductions.

Winter Operator(s) - competition open until position is filled

The contract position runs from November 1st, 2018 to April 15th, 2019 during our winter season. The successful candidate will have a good working knowledge of heavy equipment operation and posses a valid DZ Licence. This position will require the successful candidate to work independently and make appropriate decisions based on general guidance of the Road Foreman. This position is required to be on call 24 hours a day, 7 days per week during the entire length of the contract and there will be shift work. The hourly rate for the position of Operator is $23.41.

Facilities Custodian (Casual/Part Time Position) - competition open until position is filled

Reporting to Lead Hand Custodial the custodian will ensure the proper cleanliness of municipal facilities including minor maintenance work.

Primary responsibility is for the effective use of proper methods and materials in cleaning and otherwise caring for building areas and equipment. Work is performed within well-established routines and procedures.

This position requires predominantly walking and standing. Normal work time is spent indoors with occasional outdoor periods. Occasional periods of high levels of physical exertion are required. This includes lifting, walking, bending and standing.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a Custodial service industry, as well as mechanical aptitude. An ability to interact well with the public, staff and volunteers is essential by providing superior customer service to a diverse client base in a friendly and knowledgeable manner.

Parks/Cemeteries Maintenance (Seasonal Positions) - competition open until position is filled

The Corporation of the Town of Huntsville is located two hours north of Toronto in beautiful Muskoka cottage country. Huntsville, with a population approaching 20,000, is the largest community in the District of Muskoka and is a vibrant and dynamic community in which to live, work and play.

Reporting through the Manager of Parks and Cemeteries, the Parks/Cemeteries Maintenance position will ensure the proper care of the Town of Huntsville parks and cemetery system including such duties as; operation of fleet vehicles-truck and trailer, grass cutting, assisting with burials, sports field maintenance, washroom cleaning, flower bed watering and maintenance, debris pick up, special events set up and other duties as assigned.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have completed high school. Must possess excellent customer service, be willing to perform various duties in a range of weather conditions and must have a valid Class G driver's licence.
