Cemetery Maintenance - Full time position

We are looking for the following position to complement our Operations and Protective Services Division:

  • Reporting to the Parks and Cemeteries Manager, this position assists in the day to day cemetery operations. This includes grounds maintenance, location and marking of graves, performing burials and equipment operation. Between November 1st and April 15th this position will perform duties as part of the Town’s Winter Operations.
  • This position is a member of the Local Union 636 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
  • The successful candidate will have a good working knowledge of equipment operation (various tractors, loader, backhoe) and general maintenance of the cemetery grounds including custodial functions. Ideally the successful candidate will have completed high school. Must possess excellent customer service and be willing to perform various duties in a range of weather conditions and have a valid Class DZ drivers licence. Snow removal experience would be considered an asset.
  • The hourly rate for this position is $28.75 to $30.57 and includes a comprehensive benefit package. Hours of work will include days, nights, weekends, and holidays and will be on call during winter operations.

Website Project Coordinator - Contract position

Website Project Coordinator (Contract)

Under the general direction of the Manager of Marketing, the Website Project Coordinator will be responsible for leading and organizing the Town of Huntsville’s website upgrade project. This includes managing, migrating, and implementing our four corporate websites on a new Content Management System (CMS): Huntsville.ca, algonquintheatre.ca, muskokaheritageplace.ca, and huntsvillelibrary.ca.

The Coordinator will have a solid understanding of, and ensure the websites adhere to SEO and web accessibility standards. They will have experience using a CMS and be able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to bring ideas to life.

The success candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in digital marketing, website development, information technology, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 2+ years Project Management experience
  • 5+ years of experience in managing content and production of high-traffic websites.
  • High degree of expertise working with Content Management Systems (CMS).
  • Strong understanding of website management, development, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), and accessibility best practices (WCAG).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work under pressure and on tight deadlines.
  • Ability to resolve technical issues related to CMS and website functionality.
  • Skilled at working with videos and photography in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., SEO, Google Analytics, project management) are a plus.
  • General understanding of HTML for formatting and structure.
  • Previous experience working with a municipality or government organization is a plus.

The annual salary range, based on a 35 hour work week, for this position is $62,080.20 to $68,432.00 and includes a comprehensive benefit package.

Deck Supervisor/Aquatics Lifeguard - Full time position

We are looking for the following position to complement our Community Services Division:

Deck Supervisor/Aquatics Lifeguard

Reporting to the Manager of Aquatics and Aquatic Supervisor this position has a dual role of Deck Supervisor and Aquatics Lifeguard.

As Deck Supervisor you will provide programs during your shift. You will ensure that the staff are supported and that they are indeed providing high quality lessons to our patrons.

As Aquatics Lifeguard you will maintain diligent safety supervision, enforce rules and regulations, and recognize and respond to any emergency.  

The success candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Secondary education (would be considered an asset)
  • 1-5 years’ experience as an instructor or lifeguard
  • Experience as a coach and mentor
  • Certification in National Lifeguard Service, Swim for Life Instructor,  and Standard First Aid
  • Fitness Instructor Certification or Training
  • Any one of the following certifications would be considered an asset: Swim Instructor Trainer (Lifesaving), National Lifeguard Instructor, First Aid Instructor
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively and diplomatically with a wide range of personality types.
  • Creative flair and ability to adapt games for teaching purposes
  • Strong knowledge of Lifesaving teaching principles
  • A desire to keep ideas fresh and up to date
  • Proficient use in personal computer applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook are also required.

The annual salary range, based on a 35-hour work week, for this position is $45,149.00 to $49,764.00 and includes a comprehensive benefit package.
