We are looking for the following position to complement our Recreation & Leisure Services Department.

Recreation and Leisure Coordinator

Reporting to the Manager of Recreation & Leisure Services, the Recreation & Leisure Coordinator will deliver quality sport, recreation and leisure programs in the community in order to provide opportunities and encourage and promote a healthy lifestyle for all community residents. These programs include day camps, general programs and arena programs.

The Recreation & Leisure Coordinator will administer and ensure that all programs are delivered within guidelines taking into consideration; facility yield management, risk management, budget and operational policies and procedures. This position is responsible for ensuring quality of service through creative planning, ongoing evaluation and problem solving.

The successful candidate must possess a diploma in recreation or a related field as well as a minimum of three (3) years of experience, preferably in a municipal environment. NLS and Aquatic Guarding and Instruction are also considered an asset. The ability to align with established goals and objectives and ability to create/follow plans and processes accordingly to deliver task and goal completion to a high standard is an asset. The successful candidate will also have a proven ability to embrace change, be resourceful and to seek new ideas and creativity to maximize effectiveness to provide high quality Recreation & Leisure Programs to our residents and visitors of our community.

The salary range for this position is $62,662.60 to $69,087.20 and includes a comprehensive benefit package. This position requires working shifts, weekends and evenings on a regular basis and working hours are dependent on program offerings and business as required.

Customer Service Representative

Recognizing the importance and understanding to provide exceptional customer service to fulfill customer needs and expectations, the Customer Service Representative Canada Summit Centre will provide service delivery to a diverse client base in a friendly and knowledgeable manner utilizing a computer based data system. You will process transactions either by person, phone, email, e-service or any other channel of communication efficiently and accurately taking ownership of client queries, complaints by initiating action or resolving the problem resourcefully and keeping clients informed. The Customer Service Representative Community Services will also support the processes of the Community Services Division functions including day to day operations, data entry and maintaining inter-departmental communications.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have an ability to make decisions independently, must possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills and be proficient in personal computer systems. The ideal candidate is self-motivated with a keen sense of customer service and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Facilities Custodian (Casual/Part Time Position) - open until position is filled

Reporting to Lead Hand Custodial the custodian will ensure the proper cleanliness of municipal facilities including minor maintenance work.

Primary responsibility is for the effective use of proper methods and materials in cleaning and otherwise caring for building areas and equipment. Work is performed within well-established routines and procedures.

This position requires predominantly walking and standing. Normal work time is spent indoors with occasional outdoor periods. Occasional periods of high levels of physical exertion are required. This includes lifting, walking, bending and standing.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a Custodial service industry, as well as mechanical aptitude. An ability to interact well with the public, staff and volunteers is essential by providing superior customer service to a diverse client base in a friendly and knowledgeable manner.

Front of House Coordinator

Reporting directly to the Manager of the Algonquin Theatre, the Front of House Coordinator is responsible to ensure the smooth, efficient and professional operations of all front of house theatre operations. The Front of House Coordinator will ensure that all customers, clients, producers, entertainers, etc. have an exceptional experience through the delivery of all show services including but not limited to: pre-show set-ups, food and beverage services, volunteer management, other services as identified and post-show duties.

Most importantly you love dealing with the public and are genuinely customer service focused. You will have an applied diploma in hospitality/theatre or related field, High School Diploma with experience could also be considered with strong analytical skills as well as an ability to make decisions independently. Experience in food, beverage and cash handling is an asset. In addition to this, you must possess excellent analytical, interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills and be proficient in personal computer systems. A Police Background Check will be required for this position as well as a valid Class G driver’s license.

The hourly rate range for this position is currently under review. Working hours will vary dependent on shift and would include evenings and weekends.

Parking Ambassador (Seasonal) - closes on Friday, April 5, 2019 at 12noon

The Town of Huntsville is hiring a Parking Ambassador to provide consistent, professional and customer-oriented parking services on-street in downtown Huntsville.

Reporting through the Chief By-law Enforcement Officer, this position will be responsible for monitoring vehicles and enforcing Town parking by-laws while communicating with and educating the public concerning Town parking.

In addition to monitoring parking, the Parking Ambassador will provide directions, and provide more “eyes and ears” on the street. They will be knowledgeable of Huntsville’s businesses and landmarks, town programs and services and will help connect residents and visitors with destinations and information.

Parking Ambassadors are strong communicators, approachable, skilled at providing information and have a demonstrated history of working with the public. Ideally, the successful candidate will currently be enrolled in police foundations or hospitality/tourism or equivalent. Must possess excellent customer service, be willing to perform various duties in a range of weather conditions and must have a valid Class G driver’s licence and undergo a Police background check.

This is a seasonal position with a starting date of June 18th, 2019 and working until September 1st, 2019. The hourly rate range for this position is $14.70. Hours of work per week will vary and will include weekends and evenings.

Public Works Student Labourer (Seasonal) - open until positions are filled

The Student Labourer will be responsible for minor road maintenance activities including the collection of road debris and garbage, cutting weeds and grass, cold patching when required and flagging. They will also be required to assist with required maintenance of small equipment and clean equipment as required. Ideally, the successful candidate will be enrolled in secondary school or post-secondary school, have some working knowledge of small equipment operation and a Class G drivers licence. Winter Operator(s) - open until position is filled

The contract position runs from November 1st, 2018 to April 15th, 2019 during our winter season. The successful candidate will have a good working knowledge of heavy equipment operation and posses a valid DZ Licence. This position will require the successful candidate to work independently and make appropriate decisions based on general guidance of the Road Foreman. This position is required to be on call 24 hours a day, 7 days per week during the entire length of the contract and there will be shift work. The hourly rate for the position of Operator is $23.41.
