We are looking for the following positions to complement our Facility Department:

Operator 1

Reporting to Lead Hand Maintenance the Operator 1 will provide day to day maintenance and preventative services to the Canada Summit Centre, Huntsville Civic Centre, Community Halls and other select municipal building as deemed necessary including operation of pool and arena facilities which includes pool plant and refrigeration.

Completion of basic refrigeration operator’s course and/or TSSA Refrigeration Operator Class B; completion of basic chlorine course and/or certified pool operator’s course, knowledge of general pool operations and its chemistry with 1-3 years of experience in a municipally managed arena/recreation center preferred. Additional background in HVAC operations and building automation systems an asset. Able to operate self-propelled Olympia ice resurfacer. A valid Class G Driver’s License and a criminal background check is also required.

The hourly rate range for this position is $27.85 to $30.70 based on a 40-hour per week shift schedule that could include days, evenings, weekends and holidays. A comprehensive benefits package is also included.

Operator 2

Reporting to Lead Hand Maintenance and Lead Hand Custodial the Operator 2 will ensure the proper cleanliness and undertake minor maintenance work at the Canada Summit Centre, Civic Centre, Community Halls and other select Municipal buildings. This position will also include ice maintenance of two (2) arenas and the preventative maintenance program for the ice resurfacer. 

Completion of secondary school with 1-3 years of experience in a municipally managed arena/recreation center preferred. Completion of Basic refrigeration operator’s course and/or TSSA Refrigeration operator Class B / Certified pool Operators Would be an asset. General knowledge of arena/pool operations and experience in the operation of an Olympia ice resurfacer. Able to operate self-propelled floor cleaner and various equipment. A valid Class G Driver’s License and a criminal background check is also required.

The hourly rate range for this position is $25.79 to $28.43 based on a 40-hour per week shift schedule that could include days, evenings, weekends and holidays. A comprehensive benefits package is also included.

The Town of Huntsville is currently seeking a School Crossing Guard effective the start of the 2020/2021 school year.

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and have a keen interest in working with children and must have previous experience working with children as an asset.

The hourly rate for this position is $16.52/hr.  This position works up to 3.25 hours per day.

The contract position is available immediately, through to April 15th, 2021. The successful candidate will have a good working knowledge of heavy equipment operation and possess a minimum valid DZ Licence to perform winter maintenance which includes plowing, salting and sanding. This position will require the successful candidate to work independently and make appropriate decisions based on general guidance of the Operations Foreman. This position will rotate from morning to afternoon shifts every other week based on 40 hour per week shift. These shifts are subject to change as and when required. This position is also required to be on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week every other week during the entire length of the contract and work overtime when required. The current hourly rate for this position is $25.32.
