If your business is new to Town or you’re looking for ways to stay engaged with the local business community through promotions, events or joining a board, reach out to the Huntsville BIA and Huntsville/Lake of Bays Chamber of Commerce to discuss benefits of a membership.

There are a number of financial supports and incentives available for your business needs.

For assistance with employee recruitment, financial support or how to run a business the following local services are here to help!

  • YMCA Simcoe/Muskoka Employment Services: When it comes to questions about employee recruitment, retention, management and more, the YMCA Employment Services are here to help. Support and programs include candidate matching, wage subsidy program, employer info sessions, employment and transition services, skill enhancements and more.
  • Muskoka Small Business Centre: At any stage of business development, the centre can provide business information, consultation and programming. Whether it’s creating a business plan, registering your business, understanding business finances or managing growth, the centre is here to help.
  • Muskoka Futures: Your go-to organization for investments and resources. If you’re unable to secure traditional financing or insufficient financing, looking for grant opportunities, or interested in assistance with business planning and succession, connect with Muskoka Futures to see how they can help your business gain momentum.

Financial grants to assist your business, organization or not-for-profit include:

Municipal support

  • Huntsville offers a Community Financial Requests program for events or projects that provide a benefit to the community. For eligibility criteria and program details, view the Community Financial Requests page. If you should have any questions, please reach out to the Economic Development Officer.
  • Businesses or properties located within the Downtown Huntsville Business Improvement Area (BIA) are eligible to participate in the Town’s Community Improvement Plan (CIP) program. This program includes grants for building/façade improvements, planning and building applications, landscape improvements and tax increments. To learn more visit the Community Improvement page.

  • Huntsville Municipal Accommodation Tax Association offers a partnership program for community projects, initiatives and/or events that support tourism efforts
