With over 400 kilometers of roads, and many sidewalks, the Winter Operations crew work hard to keep up with mother-nature. The Town of Huntsville often receives up to 285 centimetres of snow per year. That’s a LOT of snow! This weekend we have various forecasts stating our area can receive upwards of 50 centimetres of snow through this snow event into Monday, November 21st.

While our dedicated team is prepared to clear the snow, the Town would like to remind residents of a few tips to help our crews...

Hunters Bay Trail Floating Dock Closure

Please be advised that the Hunters Bay Trail floating dock will be closed until spring 2023 due to dock maintenance and repairs. The closure effects the floating dock section between Lakewood Park and Orchard Park. There will be no access to the trail and the gates are currently closed. The floating dock trail will reopen in the spring as soon as safe to do so.

No Daytime Burning Permitted until Further Notice

Please note there will no daytime burning permitted until further notice due to current weather conditions. Small fires are permitted after 6pm and must be fully extinguished before 8am.

Minimal rain and dry forest beds have kept crews busy over the last couple days. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) has minimal crews available to assist because of other bush fires they are battling in our region.
