Posted On Friday June 05, 2020

(HUNTSVILLE, ON) In response to Provincial restrictions lifted on short term rental accommodations, the Town of Huntsville has issued a memo to the industry (attached). As of June 5, 2020, at 12:01 am, all short-term rental accommodation can resume operations. Owners and operators are asked to follow health and safety guidelines related to their sector and follow the advice of local and provincial public health officials. This includes any advice, recommendations and instructions on physical distancing, cleaning or disinfecting.

The Town of Huntsville would like to remind owners and operators that as of mid-March, 2020 all short term rental accommodations are required to be licensed. License application and program information on short term rental accommodations can be found at Huntsville.ca/STRentals.

As the Town anticipates an influx of applications over the next few weeks, please be assured that staff are working diligently to review and issue licenses in a timely manner, and ensure that all required inspections are completed in accordance with health and safety guidelines related to their sector.

Failure to submit an application by July 15, 2020 may result in charges or fines being laid.
