Media Release: COVID-19 Update: Town Services in Grey-Lockdown Zone of Province's Covid-19 Framework

(HUNTSVILLE, ON) Effective Monday, March 1 at 12:01am the Simcoe Muskoka region was moved into the Grey-Lockdown zone of the Ontario Government’s Keeping Ontario Safe and Open Framework to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

As a result of this, Town services will continue to operate in the following ways:

  • Town services are available contact-free through phone or email and online at huntsville.ca.  Town Hall and the Canada Summit Centre will remain closed to the public until further notice
  • All registered Canada Summit Centre programs are cancelled
  • Town Building Department services are operating contact-free
  • Madill Yard and Fire Halls will continue to operate with no access to the public
  • Huntsville Public Library will continue to offer Library-To-Go zero contact pickup service and their virtual activities

In addition, these new restrictions do have an effect on short-term rentals in our area:

Short-term rentals

  • Existing reservations as of November 22, 2020 honoured regardless of when the rental occurs
  • No new reservations after November 22, 2020 permitted, except for individuals who are in need of housing
  • This does not apply to hotels, motels, lodges, resorts and other shared rental accommodation, including student residences
