Media Release: COVID-19 Update: Town of Huntsville Services and Programming

(HUNTSVILLE, ON) The Ontario Government announced Friday March 5, that Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit is among one of the Public Health units permitted to reopen under the COVID-19 Response Framework: Keeping Ontario Safe and Open.

Effective March 8, at 12:01 am the Grey Zone control measures will be lifted and the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit will move to the Red Control zone of Ontario’s Framework.

As a result of the Grey Zone control measures lifting and to adhere to the recommendations of the Province and the Medical Officer of Health, Town services will operate in the following ways effective Monday, March 8, 2021:

  • Town services will continue to be available by staff through phone or email and online at huntsville.ca. Town Hall will remain closed to the public until further notice.
  • All construction activities and services, including residential renovations are allowed to commence and continue, as such all Building inspections will continue.
  • Madill Yard and Fire Halls will continue to operate with no access to the public.
  • Huntsville Public Library will continue to offer Library-To-Go zero contact pickup service.
  • Canada Summit Centre will re-open programming as permitted within the Red Control Zone framework by appointment or registration only. The Canada Summit Centre building will continue to remain closed to public walk-through. Please see the following reopening schedule of available programming. Sunday, March 7: Customer Service Desk open from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm

Monday, March 8: Customer Service Desk open 7 days a week from 8:00 am – 8:00 pm

Monday, March 8: Centennial Pool open at 6:30 am for lap swim and fitness programs

Monday, March 8: Walking Track opens from 9am to 7:45pm, 7 days a week

Monday, March 8: Jack Bionda is available for rentals 7 days a week from 7am-9pm

Tuesday, March 9: registration for swimming lessons resumes at 9:00 am

 

Previously registered participants in aquatics programs will be contacted by Town of Huntsville staff to confirm your attendance prior to your scheduled appointment.

The Walking Track will be available to book for running appointments.
