Media Release: Covid-19 Update: Town of Huntsville Services and Programming

(HUNTSVILLE, ON) The Ontario Government announced Friday February 12, that Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit is among one of the 27 Public Health units permitted to reopen under the COVID-19 Response Framework: Keeping Ontario Safe and Open

Effective February 16, at 12:01 am the Stay-At-Home order was lifted in Huntsville and the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit is now in the Red Control zone of Ontario’s Framework for a period of at least two weeks, at which time the Ontario Government will reassess public health measures.

As a result of the Stay-At-Home order lifting and to adhere to the recommendations of the Province and the Medical Officer of Health, Town services will operate in the following ways effective Tuesday, February 16, 2021:

  • Town services will continue to be available by staff through phone or email and online at huntsville.ca. Town Hall will remain closed to the public until further notice.
  • All construction activities and services, including residential renovations are allowed to commence and continue, as such all building inspections will resume.
  • Madill Yard and Fire Halls will continue to operate with no access to the public.
  • Huntsville Public Library will continue to offer Library-To-Go zero contact pickup service.
  • Canada Summit Centre will re-open programming for Huntsville residents by appointment or registration only. The Canada Summit Centre building will continue to remain closed to public walk-through. Please see the following reopening schedule of available programming. Individuals interested in booking appointments should register online at Huntsville.ca or by calling 705-789-6421:
    • Wednesday, February 17: walking track opens from 9:00am untill 3:45pm, Monday to Friday
    • Thursday, February 18: swimming registration available
    • Friday, February 19: swimming registration available
    • Monday, February 22: Don Lough arena opening
    • Wednesday, February 24: pool opens
