Director of Operations and Protective Services Discusses Repairs to the Storm Sewer System. Watch the July 20 video https://youtu.be/o-kVEImCBzU or review the highlights:

  • Crews are downtown today doing work on the Storm Sewer System by Elm Street and John Street
  • Crews are fixing the outfall pipes that lead to the Muskoka River
  • Outfall pipes are an important part of stormwater management. When rain flows into the sewer system, pipes redirect the water to an “outfall” stream, river or ditch. If the pipe becomes damaged or blocked it can cause flooding on area streets and local basements
