PSA - Military Convoys Departing Barrie for Sudbury and Petawawa areas

Approximately 150 soldiers and 20 vehicles from the 4th Canadian Division’s 31 Canadian Brigade Group will conduct military convoys from Barrie to the Sudbury area, and from Barrie to Petawawa, Ontario on February 11-12, 2022 as part of NOREX 22.

During this time, local residents can expect to see various military vehicles travelling northbound on Highway 400 through Parry Sound, and north and northeast on Highways 11 and 60 through Orillia, Huntsville and Barry’s Bay.

Road Open: Etwell Road (MR45)

The District has re-opened Etwell Road (MR45) ahead of schedule, following expedited work to replace the Wallington Creek Twin Culvert.

Etwell Road (Muskoka Road 45) is now fully open to traffic – detour and signage have been removed.

February 9 Update: Washrooms are open at 37 Main Street East (Club 55 in Town Hall) and at 8 West Street (River Mill Park). Hours are:

  • 9am to 8pm 7 days a week for 37 Main Street East (Club 55)
  • 9am to 4pm 7 days a week at 8 West Street (River Mill Park)

February 4 Update: One washroom at 37 Main Street East (Club 55 in Town Hall) has been reopened. The washroom at 8 West Street (River Mill Park) will remain closed for the weekend due to a service disruption.
