News Notice: River Mill Park Washroom Building Installation has Commenced

(Huntsville, ON) Residents are advised that installation of the prefabricated building for the River Mill Park Washroom has begun and will be followed by landscaping and other works to prepare the site for operations. The work is expected to be completed by the end of June, after which the Town plans to prepare for an official opening.

Road Closure – TriMuskokan – June 22-23, 2024

Residents are advised the TriMuskokan will take place on Sunday, June 23, impacting traffic and parking in Huntsville.

Impacts for this event will be as follows:

  • Brunel Rd. from Park Dr. to near South Portage Rd. (including Muskoka Rd. 10 intersection) will have intermittent traffic stoppages on Sunday, June 23 from 8:10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
  • Forbes Hill Dr. from the Rock Cut to Camp Kitchen Rd, Camp Kitchen Rd., and Park Dr. will be closed completely on Sunday, June 23 from 6:30 a.m. to 11:15 p.m.

(Huntsville, ON) Residents are advised that Environment Canada is warning of a multi-day heat event starting on Monday, June 17, with highest temperatures projected from Tuesday, June 18 to Thursday, June 20, and the potential to continue on into the following week. The forecast for the Huntsville area is a daytime high of 31°C (40°C with humidex) and nighttime low of 20°C, which means there will be no overnight relief from extreme heat conditions.

(Huntsville, ON) Residents are advised that Environment Canada has issued a Tornado Watch, warning of severe thunderstorms, which includes risk of high winds (up to 110km/hr.) and tornadoes, in areas from the northern Golden Horseshoe, parts of central Ontario, to Algonquin and Pembroke, including Huntsville and the surrounding region.
