Huntsville Transit
Provides
affordable and accessible transportation for those in need within
our community.
The
Huntsville Transit Service is a Community Bus Service as opposed
to simply a conventional transit bus. This means that it runs
on a fixed route through the urban area of Huntsville, catering
to both general public and special needs. As such, we have fixed
seating for 18 passengers, a wheel chair lift, and space for one
occupied wheel chair at a time. A cellular phone is located on
the bus for booking wheel chair trips. Some flexibility is available
for pickup and drop off points to accommodate this service. The specialized transit has fixed seating for 14 passengers, one wheelchair lift and space for one wheelchair.
The
bus runs approximately 10 hours a day Monday through Friday,
excluding holidays. The fares are currently $2.00 for adults
and $1.00 for students. Pre-school children ride for free
when accompanied by a paying rider. Transit
