Overview
In
March of 2003, Council adopted a new organizational structure
to streamline current departments and divisions. In the winter of 2008, the organizational structure was amended; allowing for a more streamlined reporting structure.
The
Community Services Division encompasses the community
recreational, leisure and cultural services programs provided
by the Town. This includes: Huntsville Transit,
municipal parks, leisure programming, community halls,
Huntsville Public Library, Muskoka Heritage Place and municipal marketing initiatives. This division also provides maintenance and administration for local cemeteries.
Corporate
Services Division supports all internal business functions
of the corporation, including Clerks, Finance, Information Systems and Information Technology. It has the major financial responsibility
to ensure there are adequate financial controls to safeguard
the Town's assets and budget control over the Town's expenditures.
The
Development Services Division merges Planning Services,
Building Services and Geospatial Information Systems to
improve response time and streamline the approval process
and improve "one window" customer services.
The
Public Works Division is responsible for new and replacement road construction, roads infrastructure
maintenance, fleet maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
The Protective Services Division combines the delivery of services for the Huntsville Fire Department and By-Law enforcement ensuring safety and enforcement of the protection of Huntsville citizens.
All five divisions report directly to the Town's CAO. In addition to these, the following also report to the CAO:
- Economic
Development Department for the development and implementation
of plans that enhance the expansion of business in the
Community.
- Human Resources for employment with the Corporation, health and safety and payroll process.
This
new Organizational Structure is similar to those adopted by most
municipalities throughout Ontario and allows
the Town to ensuring that the Corporation can meet the needs and
expectations of the community.
