Community Services
Community Services is responsible for the development
and delivery of recreational and leisure services to both
the residents of Huntsville, and those visiting our area.
Through its Park & Facilities and Leisure departments
operates major facilities, manages open spaces, parks
and recreational trails, and provides programs and services
designated to meet the needs of the residents and visitors.
It also works with community groups, volunteers, and individuals
to ensure that community leisure needs are addressed.
Furthermore, other Community Services include Muskoka
Heritage Place, Transit and the Huntsville Public Library.
Twice
a year, the Leisure Services department produces a Leisure
Activity Guide, which provides information about programs
available at the Centennial Centre, parks, recreation
trails, facilities, senior groups, and much more! The
Spring/Summer Guide is distributed to residents in February;
the Fall/Winter Guide in August.
The
Director works with Council, the CAO and the Directors
of the other Divisions to ensure that Council's policies
are implemented, accurate and timely advice is provided
and corporate goals and objectives are met. The Director
is also responsible for track trends in the municipal
environment, responds to public inquiries, ensures effective
and efficient delivery of services for the community.
