Introduction to the Unity Plan

Introduction to the Unity Plan

WELCOME TO THE UNITY PLAN PROJECT

The Town of Huntsville, in collaboration with Lura Consulting, has recently begun work on our community’s Unity Plan – Huntsville’s Guide to a Sustainable Future.  This document is a reflection of our town’s steadfast commitment to ensuring that we live and function in harmony with out natural surroundings.  The residents of Huntsville are seeking a thorough examination of the ways in which we can unify the three integral facets of sustainable living– economic, social, and environmental – into a single, comprehensive strategy that will ultimately serve as the basis of our community’s continuing development.  By ensuring that the three fundamental components of sustainability are included in our analysis, we afford ourselves the opportunity to be more cognizant of the wide array of factors that are essential to making certain our community is as healthy as it can possibly be.  Sustainability requires a symbiotic and balanced relationship between a society and its environment; the Unity Plan will soon become Huntsville’s foundation for a prosperous and environmentally responsible future.
