Mayor's Welcome

On behalf of my Council Colleagues, it is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the Town of Huntsville website. I am sure that you will find our exciting new website informative, accessible, and easy to use, providing you with instant information about the Town of Huntsville. I encourage you to visit our website regularly as changes take place within our Community.

In 2010, Huntsville was extremely proud to be chosen as the official host community of the 2010 G8 Summit by the Prime Minister of Canada. Along with this, we celebrated the success and grand opening of new infrastructure including the Canada Summit Centre, University of Waterloo Summit Centre for the Environment and Conroy Park. These initiatives mark an exciting new beginning for Huntsville, which brings our community close together while continuing to maximize all opportunities in order to facilitate growth, progress and prosperity.

The 2010 G8 Summit and the establishment of the University are two integral components of our town's community vision as we strive to define and brand Huntsville as a leading community for events tourism and environmental research. Our achievements only serve to further solidify our town as a leading destination for sporting events, conferences, and academic pursuit.  

I further invite you to take pleasure in our many lakes, parks and attractions which provide enjoyment as well as economic benefits to our residents, visitors and businesses.  As we grow, we are committed to maintaining a strong infrastructure and superior customer service while protecting our environment.

Along these same lines, Huntsville is also proud to introduce our Unity Plan which is our living document guiding us toward a sustainable future in terms of our long range environmental, social/cultural and economic issues. We are extremely pleased with the amount of community input into this plan and look forward to continuing to move Huntsville in a positive, sustainable direction.

With poise and conviction Huntsville welcomed the world.  It is with the same enthusiasm, that I, on behalf of Council and everyone who calls Huntsville home, invite you to take part in this exciting time.
