Planning Department

The Planning Department provides direction in all matters related to planning and development within the Town, in compliance with Provincial and Municipal Legislation.

The department carries out the following duties:

• Prepares Official Plans and Policy proposals for Council approval.
• Reviews, processes, and provides professional recommendations on land use, Subdivision and Development Applications.
• Ensures public awareness of application proposals as required.
• Provides advice to: Town Council and its Committees; Agencies; other Departments; Community and Business groups; and Citizens of Huntsville, respecting planning matters.
• Works as part of the Town Administration to formulate and implement specific actions and Capital Spending Programs of Council.
