Muskoka Ranks #1 in Top Summer Trips 2011
Huntsville Lodge Noted as Best Place to Stay

National Geographic has released a list of Top Summer Trips for 2011 ranking Muskoka #1. Huntsville's Pow Wow Point Lodge was noted as one of the best places to stay.  Muskoka's proximity to Toronto, and nearby Provincial parks, historic towns and villages as well as 8699 miles of shoreline were touted as reasons to visit the region.

2010 Angus Mowat Award for Excellence (Large Public Libraries)

Huntsville Public Library won this Excellence Award for the Rotary Teen Space.

Communities in Bloom Award Winner

Our most recent National Competition took place in 2009 - which we scored a total of 5 Blooms with Special Mention in the area of Standards for Municipal Sustainable Development.

Ontario Mainstreet Accessibility Award

In 2006, the Town of Huntsville was awarded the Ontario Mainstreet Accessibility Award for outstanding achievement in and promotion of universal access and diversity by successfully hosting the Provincial Winter Paralympic Championships.  The awards program was developed through partnership between the Toronto Association of Business Improvement Areas (TABIA), the Ontario Business Improvement Areas Association (OBIAA), and the Ontario Government.  The award was created to recognize the efforts of small businesses and communities in Ontario that have significantly improved accessibility and reduced barriers for people with disabilities.
